The future of commercial aviation is fueled by matters of critical importance that are discussed at the bi-annual IATA Fuel Forum. The prestigious event is a unique platform for the aviation fuel suppliers, airlines and other service providers to get together every six months for productive discussions shaping the multi-billion dollar industry.

ASM Team of Fuel sales and supply specialists flew to London to participate in this May’s 2018 IATA Fuel Forum.

Among a hectic meeting schedule onsite with airline customers and strategic suppliers at the Forum, it was a great opportunity to participate in these industry dialogues.  Some interesting predictions emerged on how the world we live in could look like in the future, considering the rapid transformation taking place in the global air transport system.

With progressing and changing airports infrastructure, ASM foresee opportunities in developing our ability to supply fuel to airlines globally.  Rising jet fuel prices and the implications for the air transport sector is another perspective to think of.

In our wide ranging meetings with industry partners and potential customers, the ASM fuel team explored new avenues, leading from economic and regulatory developments in Africa and Asia, and their implications on the jet fuel market in recent years and into the future.  We shared thoughts with industry colleagues on the sustainable fuel demand and the modern technologies emerging to accommodate such trends.

Optimistic about the longer term future of the aviation fuel industry, the ASM team returned to Dubai with an energetic resolve to build a pipeline of business prospects.
