The booking model affects what a traveller buys and who can change the itinerary. Whole-aircraft charter and individual-seat products should be compared through their actual contracts, operating arrangements and flight details.
What is being purchased?
In a whole-aircraft charter, the booking party contracts for an aircraft itinerary for its group. In an individual-seat product, the traveller purchases a place under the seller’s specified conditions. A shared-seat product may have a fixed route and timetable and other customers onboard.
Confirm whether exclusive aircraft use is included. Sharing a whole-aircraft cost within a group is a separate arrangement from a provider publicly offering seats.
Identify seller and operating carrier
Ask who accepts payment, issues the booking terms and operates the aircraft. Establish which contact handles amendments, disruption and refund requests. A seller’s brand alone does not identify the carrier or the operation’s regulatory basis.
Applicable rules depend on jurisdiction and the actual operation. Seek confirmation from the responsible provider and authority where needed rather than applying a general legal claim from an old industry opinion.
Compare flexibility and price on the same basis
Check itinerary, passenger allowance, baggage, stops, taxes and separately charged services. Confirm whether the group can request a changed departure, and what acceptance and charges follow. Individual-seat availability does not establish access to a whole aircraft.
Documents and departure instructions remain necessary
Passengers need appropriate entry documents and must follow security and terminal instructions under either booking model. Pet approval and mobility assistance require separate review. See the pet booking-model guide.
Questions before acceptance
- Who is the contractual seller and operating carrier?
- Is the purchase an entire aircraft or an individual place?
- Which flight details are confirmed?
- What is included, and what changes can be requested?
- What happens after cancellation, substitution or delay?
ASM’s private charter service can be discussed for a whole-aircraft requirement. This article does not announce an ASM seat-selling programme. Send an itinerary to review the available proposal.
