Flying with Pets by Private Charter: Documents and Aircraft Acceptance

In Onboard and Passenger Experience by ASM Editorial Team

Travelling with a pet by private charter requires approval for the particular animal, aircraft and itinerary. Cabin travel may be possible on a suitable aircraft, but it is not automatic. Establish operator acceptance and destination requirements before accepting a booking.

Flying Private Jet with Pet

Give the charter team an animal brief

Provide species, breed, age, weight, number of animals, carrier dimensions and any behaviour or assistance needs. Identify the passenger responsible for the animal. Ask the operator to confirm the accepted cabin location, carrier or restraint, boarding arrangements and cleaning conditions.

Do not equate an available passenger seat with permission for an animal. The aircraft owner and operating carrier may set conditions, and these need confirmation for the flight offered.

Check departure, arrival and transit documents

Pet requirements differ from passenger entry requirements. Review official animal-import and export rules for each country, including any technical stop where the animal may need clearance. Ask the relevant authority and a qualified veterinarian about required identification, vaccination records, certificates, permits and timing.

Private charter does not waive animal-entry rules, inspection or quarantine where applicable. Keep originals or required official versions ready, and establish who will present them at arrival. An itinerary change can change the document requirements.

Prepare the airport and cabin handover

Confirm where the owner and pet should report, how the animal will reach the aircraft and what handling assistance is accepted. Discuss carrier storage, food and water arrangements and any aircraft restrictions with the operator. Seek veterinary advice for fitness to travel and welfare questions; do not rely on a charter article for medication advice.

For arrival, tell the transfer provider about animals and baggage before assigning a vehicle. Ask who will coordinate any animal inspection and how a clearance delay affects the transfer.

Review terms and contingency

Confirm pet approval in the booking record alongside the aircraft and itinerary. Review additional cleaning charges, damage responsibility, cancellation and amendment terms. If the aircraft or route changes, request renewed animal acceptance rather than assuming the first approval carries over.

The whole-aircraft versus shared-seat pet guide explains the booking distinction. ASM’s charter enquiry should not be treated as a published shared-seat service.

Request an itinerary-specific proposal

Send route, dates, passengers, animal details, baggage, document status and schedule flexibility through ASM’s charter enquiry. The team can review available aircraft and requested arrangements; authority and veterinary requirements remain separate confirmations.

Private Charter, Coordinated Around Your Journey

Share your route, preferred timing and passenger requirements. One charter team coordinates the enquiry, the proposal and the arrangements around your flight, from first request to arrival.
