A Career Built From the Ground Up
Vito Gomes' aviation journey began on the operational front line. His early career covered freight and mail, load control, import and export, ramp handling, ground handling, customer service, flight dispatch and international airline operations — a hands-on foundation that gave him a practical understanding of aviation from every angle.
Working between airlines, operators and service providers, he saw a structural problem: trip support, permits, fuelling, handling and crew logistics were managed by disconnected companies, creating complexity, delays and communication gaps. In 1998 he founded Aviation Services Management to bridge those gaps.
What started with a team of two or three people has grown into a recognised aviation services group serving operators, corporate clients, private aviation customers, governments and airline partners across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Asia and beyond.

Trainee, Air Portugal

A defining element of Vito Gomes' contribution has been his ability to see where the aviation industry could work better — and act on it.
For years, aircraft owners faced a fragmented coordination model: one company managed the aircraft while others handled trip support, permits, fuelling, ground handling and crew logistics independently. Under his leadership, ASM built an integrated alternative:
- ASM — global trip support: flight planning, permits, fuel, ground handling, HOTAC and concierge coordination.
- ASM Charter — private aviation capability supporting VIP and medevac missions.
- ASM Air — AOC-backed licensed aircraft operations.
Together they give aircraft owners and operators one trusted partner — and one standard of care — across the entire operation.
His leadership has been tested through economic downturns, regional conflicts and the COVID-19 pandemic, during which ASM continued supporting VIP, diplomatic, business, repatriation and medevac missions across Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East while much of the industry was grounded.
