ASM, based in Dubai, is celebrating its 21st year in the industry. It offers flight support and charter services.
Vito Gomes founded ASM in 1998, a bespoke flight support company specializing in business aviation. Two decades later, ASM has gained global recognition for its quality services. Gomes has been leading the company throughout its history.
Forbes Top 100 Indian Leaders in the UAE
Gomes has received numerous accolades over the years. Forbes ranked him 78th on its Indian Power List in 2010. He placed 69th on the Forbes Top 100 Indian Leaders in the UAE List in 2013. He also received a ‘Top Indian Leader’ award. From 2015 to 2017, Gomes consistently ranked among the top Indian leaders in the Arab world, according to Forbes Middle East.
Gomes was nominated as an Aviation Executive of the Year in 2017 and 2018. He also received nominations for a Sapphire Pegasus Lifetime Achievement Award in those same years. Gomes has established ASM as a firm feature of Dubai’s aviation ecosystem. The location has proven ideal for various reasons, as a company spokeswoman explained.
Business Opportunities
The spokeswoman noted that the UAE presents abundant business opportunities in general and private aviation. The country’s economic setting has created a large cluster of financially substantial business leaders, spawning a collection of supporting industries, including business aviation.
ASM’s UAE base is crucial for the easy access it provides to markets beyond the country’s borders. From its Dubai headquarters, the ASM team constantly explores new markets. They seek opportunities and strengthen the company’s position as a global player.
Among the emerging markets, ASM has identified Asia as presenting exciting opportunities. The region’s developing trade and growing economies are attracting global businesses. ASM believes that the general aviation industry in Asia Pacific, especially in mainland China, is entering a golden era. As international business travel increases to and from Asia, business aviation hubs are proliferating, and service providers are investing heavily to meet demand.
Nearly 1,500 private jets are operating in the Asia Pacific region. China appears to have the will and desire to attract and accommodate business aviation. The companies entering the Asian markets are embracing the priorities of their new customers. They fully recognize the enhanced efficiency of charter travel. ASM sees huge opportunities in Asia. It realizes that it will take committed effort to exploit these opportunities in the long term.
Why ASM?
ASM understands the flexibility, persistence, and service standards needed for success in Asia. Its list of services may look similar to other flight support providers. So, why choose ASM over local competitors for flight planning?
ASM has managed thousands of missions over 20 years. Its 24/7 in-house operations team is among the most experienced and qualified in the industry. Not every flight support company has such expertise, which is important to many ASM customers.
Flight Plans
ASM designs flight plans to optimize trips at the most favorable operating costs. It has a broad network of reliable partners and suppliers and excellent connections with airport authorities worldwide. These advantages are passed on to every client.
ASM ensures the quality of service it delivers, even when a client lands at a remote FBO. The team closely examines a ground handler’s facilities and reputation, seeking the highest service levels at the best price. The executive team audits suppliers, and the standards for becoming a trusted FBO are exacting. Contracts with handlers are evaluated annually, and ASM’s quest to find excellent new facilities never ends.
Dubai Office
Besides its Dubai headquarters, ASM has people based in Goa, Mumbai, London (UK), Colombo, Nairobi, Singapore, and Moscow. This international presence keeps the operations team up-to-date on emerging market needs and facilitates efficient ground handling solutions for private, commercial, and cargo flights.
ASM takes pride in its substantial global base of contracted fuel suppliers, offering price transparency and favorable rates. The company carries comprehensive liability insurance for all refueling services up to US$1 billion per occurrence and works only with the most reliable, reputable providers. ASM evaluates its fuel suppliers every quarter, securing the best combination of service and cost efficiency at all airports its customers might visit.
Logistics
The in-depth knowledge and understanding ASM has gained on supply chain logistics at major airports is among its primary advantages. This helps the company foresee potential complications and warn or assist clients well in advance. As a result, ASM serves not only business aircraft operators but also major international airlines, including Emirates, KLM, Air France, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Korean Air.
